Tinkering Story #25 – Total Solar Eclipse 2026, Menorca Island, Spain.

What does it take to create real magic — no special effects, no AI, just a moment witnessed, captured, and shared? For this shot: The sun in partial eclipse at dusk, a coastal rock formation carved by time, meticulous planning, and one fearless, extraordinary acrobat suspended between sky and stone. The girl on the rock participates in a well-planned photography session by Stefan Liebermann. My own planning in the same place was a happy coincidence. His excellent photo of the same subject is available here.

Thanks, Stefan, for enhancing the magic of the moment!

The 2026 Total Solar Eclipse traced a rare, low-altitude path over Spain — unlocking compositions rarely possible. I chose to chase it from Menorca, Spain’s easternmost point, and was rewarded with these beautiful photos.

Totality at low altitude, partially covered with clouds.
